Freedom from smoking group includes eight sessions and features a step by step plan for quitting smoking.  Each session is designed to help smokers gain control over their behavior.  The format encourages participants to work on the process and problem of quitting smoking both individual and as part of a group.. Advance Directives are legal documents that speak for you when you cannot speak for yourself. These decisions are best made when not being faced with life threatening illness or injury.  Please join us for an important panel presentation to address end of life issues including  Advance Directives and the ethical, medical, religious, cultural and legal perspectives of dying with dignity. Twelve Facts You Should Know About Spine Surgery

Four out of five adults will experience lower back pain at some point in their life.  Most people are successfully able to treat their back problems with non-operative options.  For those that need further intervention, there are many new techniques such as minimally invasive and motion preserving procedures that have been developed with faster recovery time and less postoperative pain.   Please join Ronjon Paul, M.D., orthopedic spine surgeon with the Spine Center of DuPage Medical Group and medical director of the spine program at Edward Hospital , and Vivek Mohan, M.D., orthopedic spine surgeon with the Spine Center of DuPage Medical Group and on staff at Edward Hospital who will speak about the most important facts to know about spine surgery.  Included in the discussion will be current treatments for back pain, minimally invasive surgical options, and corrective surgeries for spinal deformities. Please come learn about prevention, risk factors, and early diagnosis and evaluation.  Also discussed will be treatment approaches and new advances in lung cancer screening and detection, including the low dose CT Lung Screening (LDCT) for at risk individuals.  Presented by our panel of physician experts on staff at Edward Hospital, Neil Das Gupta, M.D., radiation oncologist with Fox Valley Radiation Oncology and the Director of Radiation Oncology for Edward Cancer Center,  Maria Quejada, M.D., hematologist-oncologist with the Edward Cancer Center,  and Juan Flores, M.D., pulmonologist with DuPage Medical Group Pulmonary.
The evening will conclude with music and a light vigil in support of lung health.

Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders

Epilepsy is a central nervous system neurological disorder in which nerve cell activity in your brain is disturbed causing a seizure.   During this time you experience abnormal behavior symptoms and sensations, including loss of consciousness.  About one in one-hundred people in the United States may have an unprovoked seizure once in life.  A solitary seizure doesn’t mean you have epilepsy.. at least two unprovoked seizures are required for diagnosis.Please join Kevin Bockhold, M.D., neurologist with the Edward Neurosciences Institute who will speak on seizure disorders and epilepsy, evaluation, diagnosis, and current goals of treatment.

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Benign Breast Disease

Edward Medical Weight Loss Clinic

This clinic is a weight loss program tailored to each individual and supervised by Dr. Zaid Jabbar, medical director of the Edward Medical Weight Loss Clinic and internal medicine physician with Edward Medical Group. The clinic combines medically-supervised use of FDA approved weight loss medications with additional program options for each patient to achieve maximum results. Each patient will receive a thorough initial consultation and evaluation, which may include a baseline EKG and lab work.
