You can listen to your favorite music or catch up on your list of movies while receiving treatment.
Beginning April 1, 2013, look for our new Cancer Center Culinary Service! Between 11a.m. - 1p.m., you can order and pay (using your Visa or MasterCard) for your cafeteria meals over the phone. Our volunteers will pick it up and deliver it to you in the Cancer Center treatment area.

Support Groups and Programs We've designed the largest support program of any cancer program in the area. Our cancer team includes three Licensed Clinical Social Workers who are available to focus on your needs as a cancer patient. Our Breast Program Navigator is an Advanced Practice Nurse who supports breast cancer patients from diagnosis through recovery.
Our psychosocial programs are an important part of helping you cope. Meet other people who are experiencing similar emotions. Express yourself in one of our groups and programs, or learn new relaxation techniques.

American Cancer Society Wig Boutique - Plainfield Losing your hair is hard; finding a free wig isn't. Brand new wigs are offered at no charge to patients whose insurance does not cover a cranial prosthesis. An American Cancer Society-trained volunteer will help you choose the "right look" from multiple styles and colors available. Call the American Cancer Society at (630) 932-1141, option 3, to schedule your personal appointment at Edward Cancer Center in Plainfield.
Back on Track This eight-week exercise class is designed to work with the treatment and management of cancer by enhancing aerobic capacity, muscular strength and flexibility. Individuals progress at their own pace. Offered at Edward Health & Fitness Center in Naperville. The fee for an 8-week session is $32 for members of EHFC and $77 for non-members. A support person may attend at a reduced fee ($16 for members/ $39 for non-members). A physician's recommendation is required. To register, call 630-646-5917 (Naperville).
Breast & Gynecological Cancer Networking and Support Group - Naperville Meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. in the first floor lobby.
Breast Cancer Support Group - Naperville This networking and support group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 1-2:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room.
Breast Cancer Exercise and Wellness Rehabilitation Class - Naperville An Edward Occupational Therapist will discuss post-surgery concerns, exercises to improve range-of-motion, and lymphedema signs, symptoms and treatment. This class is held on the 1st and 3rd Monday, from 1-2:00 PM, in the first floor conference room. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please call Edward Class Registration, 630-527-6363.
Camp Hope The Edward Cancer Center is proud to offer Camp Hope, a week-long summer day camp for children, ages 6 - 12, whose parent or loved one is living with cancer. Camp Hope campers join Kamp Fit-to-Go at Edward Health & Fitness Center at Seven Bridges in Woodridge, and attend special breakout sessions each day. In 2013, Camp Hope will be held the weeks of June 17 and August 5. SPACE IS LIMITED AND REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Call Edward Class Registration, 630-527-6363. Cancer-Fighting Cuisine This four-week series includes a 30-minute presentation by Doreen Berard, RD, LDN, Wellness/Oncology Dietitian, and an hour-long cooking demonstration and sampling. This program is held twice annually in the Edward Heart Hospital Conference Room in Naperville, on the following dates in 2013: April 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 10 - 11:30 AM, and September 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Cancer Support Group - Naperville A general cancer support group is offered the third Wednesday of every month, 7-8:30 p.m. at Edward Cancer Center in the first floor lobby. This group meets at the same time as the Caregiver Support Group.
Caregiver Support Group - Naperville For caregivers, family members, spouses, and support people. This separate group meets the third Wednesday of every month, 7-8:30 p.m. at Edward Cancer Center in the first floor lobby. This group is offered at the same time as the Cancer Support Group.
Complementary Therapies: Reiki, CranioSacral, Healing Touch and Massage - Naperville These therapies promote balance, relaxation and stress release, and are performed one-on-one by trained practitioners. SPACE IS LIMITED, AND APPOINTMENTS ARE NECESSARY. Please call the Social Workers to schedule your individual appointment.

Healing Sound Meditation - Naperville A Vibrational Energy practitioner uses "singing bowls" to promote deep relaxation. Meditation helps to focus attention, relax the body, and calm the mind. This group meets the 1st and 4th Wednesdays of each month from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. in the second floor conference room.
Look Good...Feel Better - Naperville and Plainfield Look Good...Feel Better is designed for women who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. American Cancer Society-trained cosmetologists present makeup techniques, skin and nail care, and options related to hair loss such as wigs, hats, scarves, and other accessories. Naperville - Meets the third Tuesday of each month, 7 to 9 p.m., in the second floor conference room. (Call 630-646-6111 to register); Plainfield - Meets on the second Monday of each month, 3 to 5 p.m., in Conference Room A. (Call 815-731-3434 to register).
Mindful Yoga - Naperville Mindful Yoga promotes relaxation through breath work and increases flexibility. Poses are modified to adapt to all levels of experience and limitations. Mats, blocks, straps and blankets are provided. Meets every Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the first floor lobby.
Patient Library and other resources Books, CDs, videos, and other educational materials are available to patients and their families. The Resource Library is located off the first floor lobby of the Cancer Center in Naperville and Plainfield.
Scrapbooking and Crafts - Naperville Bring your craft project or try something new! This group meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at Edward Cancer Center, first floor conference room. "Writing for Wellness" is held immediately after "Scrapbooking and Crafts". See below for more information.

The Fall ReTREAT 2013 - Plainfield Saturday, October 5, Edward Cancer Center offers this rejuvenating event for patients, survivors and caregivers. Enjoy yoga, reiki, meditation, chair massage, light refreshments, and much more. Please call Social Workers for more information.
Touch, Caring and Cancer One-on-one hands-on instruction and information on using touch and massage safely and effectively. In Naperville, Monday, May 6, 7:00-9:00 PM, in the second floor conference room. Please come with a partner for a relaxing and informative evening. SPACE IS LIMITED AND REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Writing for Wellness - Naperville Expressive writing can bring about positive change in thoughts and feelings. Following the "Scrapbooking and Crafts" support group, this group meets on the last Tuesday of every month, 7 - 8:15 p.m.
Education - Edward Cancer Center Chemotherapy Group Education Class New patients and families welcome.Information includes:
- Define chemotherapy and how it is given
- List the side effects of chemotherapy
- Learn ways to alleviate or minimize side effects of chemotherapy
- Provide resources for further help.
