Linden Oaks at Edward may be somewhat new in town, but since opening its St. Charles location in October 2010, the comprehensive outpatient behavioral health facility is definitely catching the attention of nearby schools, community service organizations and referral sources to help adults and adolescents in need.
The outreach site is conveniently located at 3805 E. Main Street in St. Charles, across the street from Charlestowne Shopping Mall. It services St. Charles and surrounding communities including Batavia, Geneva, Bartlett, Aurora, Wheaton, and West Chicago.
Patients receive care from a multidisciplinary team consisting of a licensed clinical psychologist, a board certified psychiatrist, a licensed clinical professional counselor, board certified psychiatric registered nurses and addictions counselors. Through a combination of group, individual, and family therapies, clients are able to reconnect with their life in a profound and fulfilling way.
- Partial Hospitalization, an outpatient program that offers six hours of daily structured programming to address depression, anxiety and other behavioral health issues.
- Intensive Outpatient Program consists of individual, group and family counseling sessions as well as psychiatric services. Programming lasts 3 ½ hours each day.
- Detour Program, designed as an alternative to suspension and first offender program for adolescents with substance abuse problems, Detour helps students in middle school and high school and their parents or guardians to explore attitudes and behavior related to substance abuse. - Intake Process. The intake counselor in conjunction with the psychiatrist will determine the appropriate level of care. Screenings are free of charge and strictly confidential. In St. Charles, intake assessments are completed Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Please call (630) 646-5201 or (630) 305-5027 to schedule an intake appointment. We can also schedule same-day appointments.
“Our St. Charles Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient programs are designed to help stabilize the patient. It’s one level of treatment in the patient’s continuum of care. We partner with outside counselors, agencies and other referral sources to assist patients with their transition back to school, work, and home environments as needed,” says Mark Molina, LCPC, Linden Oaks program coordinator in St. Charles.
Recently, Linden Oaks responded to feedback from local schools by launching a local version of the very popular Detour Program – a substance abuse prevention education program for teens.
“Detour is just one way that we’re reaching out to expand our services and boundaries. Mental health has no boundaries and the more people we can reach, the bigger difference we can make,” says Molina.
