Why do you exercise? To maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints? Control weight? Manage stress? For these same reasons, Edward Health & Fitness is encouraging teens to work out regularly and will be giving teen members (ages 12-15) access to use the Naperville club. Members age 16 and older currently have access to the Naperville club.
“No matter what your age, daily exercise is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle,” says Cindy Eggemeyer, executive director of Edward Health & Fitness Centers. “Encouraging exercise at an early age, can lead to a lifetime of healthy behaviors.”
To exercise at an EHFC facility teen members must first complete a Teen Evaluation and Consultation and be accompanied by an adult member each time they come to work out.
At Seven Bridges and Naperville teen members may use the following:
- Main fitness floor
- TrackBasketball courts
- Free weight room
- Adult locker rooms
- Adult lap pools
- Free programming in the aerobics studio, and spin and multipurpose rooms
Use of the therapy pool, whirlpool/spa, and sauna and steam room are prohibited. There will also be a designated adult-only section in the Naperville locker rooms.
Teen guests will only be allowed at Seven Bridges and may only participate in Children’s Services.
