Choose your doctor You should see a doctor before you get pregnant for recommendations on how to have a healthy pregnancy. If you have ongoing medical conditions, it is important for those conditions to be stable before getting pregnant.
Choose your baby's doctor It's important to select a pediatrician or family practice physician before your baby arrives. Be sure to choose a doctor who is on your insurance plan.
Call Physician Referral Call (630) 527-MDMD, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm to find a doctor. For an Edward Medical Group physician, call (630) 527-EMG1 (3641) or submit an Edward Medical Group physician referral request online.
Specialists Most women have no problems with pregnancy other than the normal discomforts, but your pregnancy may be considered high risk if you experience complications or have certain medical conditions that might complicate your pregnancy. If you experience a high risk pregnancy or your baby needs special care, Edward's Perinatology Center is licensed and experienced in handling the most complicated cases for expectant women. Our center is staff by board certified perinatologists, who have treated rare and complex conditions. Board-certified perinatologists provide services on Edward's Naperville and Plainfield campuses as well as once a week at the Yorkville location. For more information, please call (630) 527-3278.
Genetic Counseling As one of Chicago-land's only community hospitals to have a genetic counselor on staff, we're able to help people identify if they are at risk for an inherited disease and what options they have to manage or prevent it. Meet our genetic counselor or learn more at edward.org/genetics.
