Survey says: Edward rated #1 in the region Edward Hospital is rated the number one hospital for overall quality in Chicago's southwest and west suburbs, and the number one non-academic hospital for overall quality in the entire Chicago area, according to a 2010 survey by the National Research Corporation (NRC).
NRC's 2010 survey covered a statistically significant sample from Edward's Total Service Area*, which includes more than 700 individuals from Naperville, Aurora, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Homer Glen, Joliet, Lemont, Lisle, Lockport, Minooka, Oswego, Plainfield, Romeoville, Shorewood, Warrenville, Wheaton, Woodridge and Yorkville.
Edward was rated highest in the region by a nearly 3-1 margin in total service area in the following areas:
- Most preferred for all health needs
- Best overall quality
- Best nurses
- Best physicians
- Best technology
- Best amenities
