The Edward Foundation has launched the KidsCare Campaign – a giant leap forward in critical care for kids at Edward. KidsCare will fund a complete renovation of pediatric services and bring the first in-hospital Ronald McDonald Family Room in Illinois. We must raise $1.5 million to accomplish this project.
 The KidsCare Campaign is about helping sick kids get better. It will fund a complete renovation of the newborn and pediatric intensive care units (NICU and PICU), and Special Procedure rooms, which will include diagnostic imaging, infant hearing, hematology/oncology and more.
For families of children in the NICU and PICU a place to recharge and reflect is critical. That's why this renovation will also include the first in-hospital Ronald McDonald Family Room in Illinois. Link to a rendering photo.
This wonderful addition will provide sleeping rooms, showers, relaxation areas, and a kitchen area for parents so that they can get the rest, respite, and nourishment they need in order to be near their child's bedside around the clock.
There will be a community room where parents can share with other families, and an educational resource area including internet access. A playroom for patients and siblings helps make it feel even more home-like.
