What are the benefits of working with a Certified Diabetes Educator?
The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) certification program conducts activities to uphold standards of competent practice in Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME). The Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential demonstrates that the certified healthcare professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality care for persons with diabetes. The overall objectives of DSME are to support informed decision-making, self-care behaviors, problem-solving and active collaboration with the healthcare team and to improve clinical outcomes, health status, and quality of life.
