Teens can build confidence, self-esteem at Linden Oaks Camp Success program
Do you know a teen who is trying to cope with bullying, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression? Linden Oaks at Edward is offering Camp Success Summer 2013 for teens ages 11 – 18 to learn skills to manage these issues.
The camp, which will be led by mental health professionals and licensed therapists, will be held July 22 – August 2 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Linden Oaks Outpatient Center 1335 N Mill Street, Naperville.
Teens will learn how to build relationships, social skills and express emotions through fun, social activities such as scavenger hunts, roller skating, rock climbing, live music, team building and expressive arts.
"Using camp activities, we want to teach participants to be proud of their individuality. This unique camp approach is geared to teach kids how to be themselves, instead of trying to conform to social pressures," says Brittany Nalley, Art Therapist and coordinator of Camp Success.
Campers do not need to be receiving treatment at Linden Oaks to participate. In fact, Camp Success will attract many kids who have never attended Linden Oaks before, according to Nalley.
Registration is open to the community, and referrals are accepted.
The cost of the camp is $450 (lunch not included). For more information, link to this flyer or call 630-527-3983. Registration is open now. To register, call (630) 527-6363.
