Edward Medical Group offers video profiles of doctors

Edward Medical Group wants to make it easier to choose a primary care physician who meets your particular health concerns and style. To make prospective patients more comfortable with their choices, the doctors' group offers video profiles of its doctors at www.edwardmedicalgroup.org to "meet Dr. Right."
Edward Medical Group is the primary care practice of Edward Hospital, and has 40 board-certified family practice and internal medicine physicians who treat patients of all ages.
Edward Medical Group has four locations in Naperville: 120 Spalding Drive on the campus of Edward Hospital, 1247 Rickert Drive, 1220 Hobson Road and 2007 95th St.; two locations in Plainfield: 15905 S. Frederick St. and 24600 W. 127th St., Building B on the Edward Plainfield campus; one location in Bolingbrook: 130 N. Weber Rd., along with offices in Oswego at Orchard Rd. & Rte. 34, Sandwich at 1 E. County Line Rd. and Yorkville at 76 W. Countryside Pkwy.
"For many people, it can be intimidating to find the right doctor, and they may not have an idea of where to start," says James Lengemann, an internal medicine physician and medical director of Edward Medical Group, in a press release. "The video profiles give patients a chance to identify a doctor they feel they would be comfortable with, and it gives the physicians an opportunity to establish that initial connection that's so crucial in a long-term doctor-patient relationship."
Each video lasts 40 to 90 seconds and offers a look at each doctor's personality, and a chance for the physicians to explain their areas of expertise, why they decided to become a doctor and how they treat patients.
"I love the family practice model, caring for the newborns all the way to the grandparents," says Lara Ellison, a family practice physician. "When patients come in, I always get filled in on what's going on in the family. That's something I really enjoy."
In her video, Edyta Straczynski, whose specialty is family practice, describes her approach to caring for her patients.
"I try to give as much personal attention as I can, be as warm as I can and be respectful," Straczynski says. "It's not only about being knowledgeable, it's about being compassionate about what you do."
Making a difference in patients' lives is another motivator.
"To work in a profession where you have the capability of doing that every day, I'm certainly very blessed to have that," says Timothy Tyrrell, an internal medicine physician, in the closing comments of his video profile. |
