Edward Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Department is celebrating ten years of providing care to the children of Chicago's west and southwest suburbs. Since January 1, 2000, Edward's Kids' ER has treated nearly 150,000 patients, put in more than 50,000 stitches, consistently ranks in the top 2 percent of the country in patient satisfaction and is the only Kids' ER in the region with all board certified pediatric emergency physicians.
"When I was recruited here 10 years ago to help start the department, I saw it as a great opportunity to improve the lives of kids in this community," says George Koburov, MD, medical director of Edward's Pediatric Emergency Department. "This community is now my community as well and I am proud to say that thus far we have been extraordinarily successful."
