Naperville Mayor Pradel relaxing at Edward following cardiac procedure
(Naperville, IL - February 12, 2010) - Naperville Mayor George Pradel is resting comfortably at Edward Heart Hospital after having two stents inserted during a procedure Thursday afternoon, February 11 to correct blockages in coronary arteries.
"I'm doing very well and I'm going to be fine. The doctors are happy with my progress," says Mayor Pradel. "It's important people get the message - be like President Clinton and me and if you have any symptoms, get them checked out. I speak from experience and knowing that we're really blessed to have Edward here for heart care in Naperville."
The blockages were discovered during testing after Mayor Pradel admitted himself to the Edward emergency room with chest discomfort early Thursday morning. The tests also confirmed Mayor Pradel had a minor heart attack.
William Stephan, MD, an interventional cardiologist with Edward Hospital and Midwest Heart Specialists, performed the angioplasty procedure to insert the stents.
