Enrollment open for Edward Cancer Center's annual Camp Hope
Edward Cancer Center is offering Camp Hope, a week-long summer camp for children, ages 5-12, whose parent or loved one is facing cancer.
Sponsored by the Edward Foundation, Camp Hope campers will take part in traditional summer camp activities and also attend therapeutic breakout sessions, including arts and crafts, music therapy/drumming, scrapbooking, martial arts, small group discussion and children's yoga, led by the instructors of Universal Spirit Yoga of Naperville.
Licensed clinical social workers from the Edward Cancer Center facilitate the breakout sessions, and are available throughout the day.
Camp Hope is scheduled August 10-14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Edward Health & Fitness Center, 6600 S. Route 53 in Woodridge.
The cost is free for children with a parent or loved one facing cancer. Child care is available before and after camp, 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m., at no cost for Camp Hope kids.
