Visiting Hours: what are the visiting hours before, during and after I have my baby? Is there quiet time for me and the baby?
Visiting hours in OB are as follows:
Labory & Delivery - Visitors during labor are at the discretion of the patient. However, no more than 4 visitors are allowed in the labor room at any time and only 2 support people are allowed at delivery. In the event of Cesarean delivery, one person designated by the mother may support her in the Operating Room & recovery area, unless general anesthesia is used. Those who desire to have their child (ren) attend the birth of their sibling must have written permission from their OB and the Sibling at Birth class is required for the family. Call (630) 527-6363 for more information.
Mother Baby - Mom's designated support person is welcome to visit at any time. Siblings are welcome during regular visiting hours. Visiting hours are 10 am to 8 pm on the Mother/Baby unit. During the hours of 2 pm to 4 pm, Edward encourages peaceful rest in a quiet environment on the Mother/Baby Unit. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this restful environment and let your visitors know to plan their visits around this mom and baby nap time. Children under 12 years of age visiting mom and baby must be siblings of the new baby in order to visit.
