Antepartum means "before birth". You may be admitted to our Antepartum Unit for Special Care Pregnancies if your doctor decides that it is necessary to monitor you or your baby's health status, to identify risk factors to treat complications, or to increase surveillance to prevent further problems. Your stay on our unit for Special Care Pregnancies may be continuous until delivery or you may be discharged and asked to return intermittently or frequently depending on the circumstances.
