Is Zumba right for you? |
Edward Health & Fitness Center Zumba Fitness instructor Thomas Lafser shares his passion for Zumba.
What is Zumba?
Zumba Fitness is a Latin and International rhythms based dance fitness class created by Colombian native, Beto Perez. It is an interval based class delivering an amazing calorie burn during one rocking fitness party!
Why do you Zumba?
I started Zumba Fitness as a way to lose weight, I fell in love with the program and it was the only class I could make it through without feeling like I was going to pass out. I also really enjoyed the music and fun of the class.
How long have you been doing Zumba?
I started Zumba Fitness in August of 2009 and began teaching in November of 2009.
How many hours a week do you Zumba?
As an instructor I teach Zumba classes for 18 hours a week, a bit high for the average person. As always one should check with their doctor before beginning an exercise program and start easy and gradually increase as they become more adjusted to working out.
Why should someone who has never done Zumba participate in a class?
Zumba Fitness is for everyone! The whole idea behind Zumba Fitness is a fun, party like atmosphere. It doesn't matter if you're turning right and everyone else is going left, as long as you feel the music and have fun.
Is Zumba right for everyone?
YES! Everyone and anyone can take Zumba Fitness classes. The Zumbatomic program is targeted for children between 4 and 12 while Zumba Fitness is targeted towards anyone and everyone else. You can modify to your needs and limitations.
