Member Highlight: Meet Peggy Beata 01/15/2013 Question #1: How long have you been a member of EHFC? Answer: I’ve been a member for more than 10 years. Currently, I’m a mid-day member from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. I love it! EHFC is my happy place. I walk in the door and instantly get a big grin on my face.
Question #2: Tell us a little bit about yourself Answer: I am 57 years old and retired, and I lead a busy and full-life. I serve on one of the boards for the Lyric Opera in Chicago and serve as co-chair for the Lyric’s largest fundraiser. I also serve on the board for Loaves & Fishes, a community food pantry that provides food to individuals in Naperville and DuPage County. I manage my husband’s small business, and I take care of my elderly mother.
Question #3: What services do you use at EHFC? Answer: I go to the fitness center every day. The amount of equipment is phenomenal and allows me to do a variety of different things. The Spa is very peaceful, and I always feel valued by the staff.
Question #5: What aspects of EHFC do you enjoy most? Answer: The trainers and instructors are top notch. The instructors call me by name and they care about me as a person. They care that I’m using the equipment the right way, and that I’m getting the most out of my workout. It is a very social place. I enjoy the variety and the option to attend different classes throughout the day.
And, most importantly, I feel so good when I’m there. I’ve become friends with other members – we’ve gone to wakes together and have been there to cheer each other on through major accomplishments.
Question #4: Are there any particular staff members or instructors who stand out most in your mind? Answer: I particularly enjoy spinning with Karen Wick – she’s absolutely wild. When I first started working out, I wanted to try spinning, but thought it would be too difficult. But now, I spin like a professional. She’s helped me develop my own zone.
I also love Yoga classes with Lana – she’s like an angel in human form.
In the Spa, Janice Reallie always gives me manicures, and she’s a loving and caring person. Kathy Kelley, a masseuse, knows how to dig deep to give me the best massage.
Question #6: Have you tried other spas? Answer: Yes, I’ve traveled all over the world and I’ve gone to many other spas and fitness centers in many different places …. Glacier National Park, London, Switzerland to name a few. Edward is superior! The facility is beautiful, and compares to the best of the best.
Question #7: Would you recommend Edward to other people? Answer: I do all the time. I always tell prospective members: if you try it, you will like it!
