Stroke Center of Excellence
The Joint Commission has designated Edward as a Stroke Center of Excellence and a Primary Stroke Center, in part due to impressive "door to balloon" times that are consistently almost 20 minutes faster than the national goal of 90 minutes to get a heart attack patient from the emergency department to angioplasty.

The Center for Advanced Heart Failure at Heart Hospital offers a full continuum of heart failure services including ultrafiltration, new pacemakers, and new surgical procedures such as left ventricular reconstruction. The Center is led by Maria Rosa Costanzo, M.D. and Mitchell Saltzberg, M.D. both cardiologists with Midwest Heart Specialists.
Center for Pediatric Critical Care
Edward has received state recognition as a Center for Pediatric Critical Care (PCCC). The pediatric care team includes more than 30 sub-specialists, including pediatric cardiology, based in Edward Heart Hospital. This team of expert physicians and clinicians address the high prevalence of cardiovascular disease in children, providing families access to the best care close to home.
