Meet our Team

The Edward Kids' ER has consistently scored in the top two percent in the country in customer satisfaction. All of our emergency physicians are pediatricians who have spent years training in university hospital trauma centers. They have completed rigorous post-graduate, three-year fellowships in pediatric emergency medicine. Each is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine.

Our nurses are experts in treating children as well. All are certified in pediatric advanced life support and have completed extensive pediatric emergency nursing training. Many have spent their careers before Edward at children's hospitals, in ICU or emergency settings.

To promote communication and teamwork, a cluster of rooms is assigned to a team of healthcare professionals so a nurse can step in to help when another team member is busy or with another patient.

Child Life Specialists are available to provide comfort to children and teens that are being treated in our emergency department. Their primary focus is to promote healing and help patients adjust to the emotional challenges of hospitalization and treatment. This is achieved by our child life team by offering medical preparation, introducing coping strategies, and utilizing distraction techniques. Their one-on-one work with a patient and family helps ease the stress the patients are experiencing and provides a form of support for the entire family system.
