The Edward Occupational Therapy Team is here to help you remain active and independent, even when life takes an unexpected turn. Whether your condition is the result of an illness, injury, or has been caused by developmental issues, our occupational therapists will help you on the road to recovery.
Occupational therapy is a specialty that focuses on upper extremity orthopaedic problems, neurological conditions, lymphatic edema, sensory processing disorder, development delay, and many other physical challenges. From a hand injury to stroke recovery and anything in between, occupational therapy will play an important role in your return to maximum independence. Our therapists specialize in hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and lymphedema care.
What we provide:
Typical clinical hours are 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. most days of the week at the hospital in Naperville and hand therapy in Crest Hill hours by appointment.
All evaluations, assessments, and treatments are provided by a licensed therapist.
Continuity and consistency of care with one-on-one treatment by your therapist, and not by an assistant or therapy aide. We also try to have you treated by the same therapist throughout the duration of your care.
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are all at one convenient location at the main hospital in Naperville.
Better outcomes in fewer visits to Edward Rehab compared to 4,500 other outpatient facilities based on current industry research.
Services are always provided by licensed occupational therapists. Our occupational therapists (OTR/Ls) are graduates from scholastic programs accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). They are required to complete at least six months of clinical experience and pass the certification exam administered by the National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Additionally, all are required to maintain licensure from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation which requires yearly continuing education. Some of our OTR/L's also hold additional credentials in lymphedema and hand therapy.
