- Medical Insurance - High Deductible PPO & HMO Plan
Edward offers full and part-time eligible employees two Humana network plans:
- Edward HMO Plan
- Edward High Deductible PPO plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA), if eligible. Edward contributes to employees' HSA.
- Dental PPO & DHMO
Edward offers full and part-time eligible employees two dental plans through Delta Dental: PPO and DHMO (Dental HMO). Both plans offer preventative, maintenance and orthodontia care.
Edward offers full and part-time eligible employees a voluntary vision program through VSP -- the nation's largest eye care provider. Blue Cross Blue Shield also offers a discount vision program at no additional cost when you elect one of the medical plans.
- Well at Work wellness programs
Edward's award winning Well at Work department offers a variety of free or discounted on-site wellness programs for employees.
- Free wellness screenings
Edward offers free wellness screenings (Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, etc.) to all employees, as well as any employee's spouse who is enrolled in an Edward medical plan.
- Free Edward Health & Fitness Center membership
We became the first hospital in DuPage County to open a medically based fitness center in 1988. Then in 1997, we opened a second facility in the Seven Bridges community in Woodridge. Today, more than 12,000 members enjoy our state-of-the-art facilities, innovative children's programming, and the Spa at Seven Bridges, our full-service, open-to-the-public day spa located inside our Woodridge center. Employees are taxed on the value of the membership.
- Free Edward Health & Fitness Center membership for retirees
Edward offers long-term employees, who are of a certain age, a FREE membership to the Edward Health & Fitness Center once they retire. Retirees will be taxed on the value of the membership.
- Edward's Safe Patient Handling program
With the use of state-of-the-art patient lifts and through special training, Edward's Get a Lift program helps nurses, patient care technicians (PCTs), physical therapists, transporters and other caregivers avoid injuries as a result of transferring, repositioning or lifting of patients.
- Retirement savings program
All eligible employees who complete one month of service may participate in Edward's Retirement Program, which is administrated by Fidelity Investments. Edward will match employee contributions dollar per dollar for the first 1% an employee contributes to their retirement and $0.50 per dollar when an employee contributes 2-6% of their annual earnings. Employees who work 1,000 hours each calendar year may also receive a discretionary basic contribution from Edward. The basic contribution is a percentage of annual earnings and is based on years of service.
- Basic & supplement term life/AD&D insurance
Edward provides full and part-time benefit eligible employees basic life insurance protection that is equal to one times their annual base salary, while employed at Edward. Edward employees can also elect supplemental life insurance coverage up to three times their annual base salary, up to $750,000.
- Dependent term life insurance
Edward benefit eligible employees have the option to elect life insurance for eligible dependents (spouse & children), if they also elect supplemental term life insurance.
- Short-term & long-term disability program
The Short-term & Long-term disability programs provide income replacement for personal illness or injury for full time employees.
- Health Savings Accounts
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are available for employees who are enrolled in the high deductible PPO plan. Edward makes an annual contribution to employees' HSA (if eligible) and an employee can also make pre-tax contributions to their HSA up to federal limits. Money in the HSA may be used for current eligible health care expenses or may be saved for future medical expenses even into retirement.
- Health care & dependent care flexible spending accounts
Eligible employees can set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible expenses according to IRS guidelines.
- Healthcare Associates Credit Union (HACU)
Edward employees are eligible to join the Healthcare Associates Credit Union. HACU offers savings and checking accounts and various loan programs.
- Various merchant and service discounts
National and local businesses offer discounts to Edward employees. Some of the discounts are for retailers, restaurants, day care, amusement parks and services such as a car wash or carpet cleaning. Edward employees also receive a discount at the Edward cafeteria, gift shop and flower shop and the spa at the Edward Health and Fitness Center at Seven Bridges.
- Mailing services on Edward campus
Need to mail a package or buy postage? As a convenience for Edward employees, physicians and volunteers, the Edward mailroom will send packages out via U.S. mail, UPS or DHL. You can also pay for postage for a letter in the mailroom.
- Employee Assistance Program
SupportLinc is our employee assistance provider and is one place employees and families can turn to for any personal health needs. It's a free and confidential resource to help you deal with life's challenges. May offer up to five free counseling sessions.
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
Eligible Full and Part time employees earn PTO hours for time off. PTO can be used for vacation, holidays, personal and sick days. Employees earn PTO during each bi-weekly pay period. The accrual rate is based on length of service and hours worked. Long-term employees are also eligible to earn flash time which are extra PTO hours that Edward awards employees once they reach certain service anniversary milestones as a way to recognize and reward them for their continued dedication and hard work.
- Tuition Assistance Program
After 180 calendar days of continuous benefit eligible service, Edward employees can participate in the education assistance program which provides reimbursement for tuition, books and fees for job related education.
- Up to $4,000 annually for full-time employees
- Up to $2,000 annually for part-time employees
