Edward's animal-assisted therapy program is available in a number of areas in the hospital, including pediatrics, outpatient oncology, coronary care, orthopedics-neurology, medical-surgical and short stay. Patients in these areas can request a visit as long as they meet certain criteria and have physician approval. Visits last approximately five to 10 minutes, and are available seven days a week, at various times.
