From the head to the heart to the toes, we treat women differently. That's because more and more research shows women have unique symptoms and treatment needs for many diseases and conditions.
Our approach to care is recognized by those who've received it – Edward is rated the most preferred hospital for women's health services in the west and southwest suburbs.
And, Edward's quality of care has been recognized. For example, we have full accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and are recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, and Linden Oaks at Edward has earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval in six areas, including eating disorders and depression.
Keeping women healthy From pelvic floor procedures, to breast and gynecologic cancer, we specialize in keeping women healthy. For example, in 2004, we opened the Edward Cancer Center to bring together state-of-the-art technology, research, and leading doctors. The Edward medical staff includes dozens of board-certified obstetrics/gynecology physicians who provide the following services:
- Annual physicals and Pap smears
- Pregnancy/childbirth care and education
- One-on-one breast self-exam education
- Treatment for gynecological diseases and abnormalities
- Menopause counseling and treatment
- Infertility counseling and treatment
- Birth control education and management
