We want your visit to be as comfortable as possible. Here is what you need to know before an outpatient procedure. Information specific to your test or procedure, such as diet, medication, or clothing restrictions, will be provided to you before your procedure.
During construction on our South Parking Deck patients and visitors are encouraged to use our free valet service or free parking in our North Deck on the north side of the hospital. Learn more about our valet parking hours or find a map of our campus.
What to eat, what to wear
For many tests, comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is recommended. Two-piece outfits are often ideal if you may be required to change into a gown. Your doctor will provide instructions on eating restrictions. Smoking before a procedure is generally not recommended. Please read your individual outpatient instructions completely.
Please arrive at the Registration desk at least 15 minutes before your appointment to complete any necessary paperwork at the reception desk. In some cases we will ask you to arrive 30 minutes earlier than your appointment time. Registration will need a photo I.D., your insurance card, and a referral, doctor's order or prescription to begin the registration process. Our front desk staff will page the necessary person for your visit.
Please notify us if you are unable to keep your appointment by calling (630) 537-3200.
If you are coming in for a treatment requiring anesthesia, you may be required to bring someone with you. Feel free to bring a book or magazine. Cell phones and laptops may be used.
If you need lab work prior to your treatment, we recommend coming the day before to avoid waiting time on the day of your treatment. We often cannot treat until we see lab results.
Tell your doctor about any health conditions, medication or allergies. Also let your doctor know if there's a possibility you may be pregnant.
While we try to stay on schedule, occasionally our physician's may be delayed for a number of reasons. We will do our best to keep you informed if this is the case. Please ask the front desk for assistance if you have any questions or have not been called for your appointment time.
If you are coming from another doctor's office, your doctor must contact us first before you can make an appointment. We must have all your information, orders and any referrals necessary so that we can arrange your treatment. This enables our staff to plan for your visit and have everything ready so there are no delays on the day of your appointment. We cannot guarantee walk-in or same day appointments.
If you need to make another appointment, our staff will help arrange this before you leave. After seeing one of our physician's, please wait for the nurse to see you so she can arrange any necessary tests or appointments and give you proper follow-up instructions. Make sure to stop at the front desk before you leave if you need any future doctor appointments.
If you have any questions or concerns during your visit, you may ask any staff member for assistance and we will find the appropriate person to address whatever it is you need. We want to make your visit here as comfortable as possible, so please tell us what we can do to help you.
