Edward pediatric patients are cared for by experienced neonatal and pediatric nurses. Neonatal nurse practitioners and a pediatric clinical specialist are part of the NICU/PICU teams. And auxiliary healthcare professionals with pediatric expertise in nutrition; pharmacy; social work; physical, occupational and speech therapies; and respiratory therapy provide comprehensive pediatric inpatient care.

Bob Covert, M.D.
Medical director, Edward Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Chairman, Edward Department of Pediatrics
Dr. Covert is a board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist with DuPage Neonatology Associates. He received his medical degree from the University of South Florida and completed his residency at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Covert has nearly 20 years of experience in caring for premature and ill newborns. The majority of Dr. Covert's career has been spent at university medical centers, including the University of Chicago Hospitals, where he has held the positions of attending neonatologist, professor, and researcher. Dr. Covert has been practicing at Edward since 1996. He lives in Naperville with his wife and children.

Donald R. Taylor, D.O.
Medical director, Maternal Fetal Services
Dr. Taylor came to Edward as an independent contractor from St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinios, where he was a staff perinatologist. Previously he was with Rockford Health System Regional Perinatal Center, where he completed his fellowship. Dr. Taylor also serves on the faculty of MidWestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board-certified in both obstetrics/gynecology and maternal fetal medicine.

George Koburov, M.D.
Medical director, Pediatric Emergency Department
Dr. Koburov is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency and three-year fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital. Dr. Koburov has been a faculty member at two medical schools -- Northwestern University Medical School and the University of California at San Diego. |

Dr. Havalad is board-certified in general pediatrics. He completed his residency in pediatrics and fellowship in neonatology at Lutheran General Children's Hospital, where he was Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Division. |
