Edward's Perinatology Center is licensed and experienced in treating the most complicated conditions an expectant woman or newborn may face. In fact, we were the first hospital in DuPage County to deliver and care for quadruplets. During our busiest year, Edward delivered 131 sets of twins and five sets of triplets. To help you prepare for the birth of your multiples, we have a special prenatal class just for you!
Our MULTIPLES CLASS series is 3 classes (one on-line class and 2 in-person classes) which cover information specific to multiple pregnancy and birth. The on-line class covers nutrition and weight gain for multiple pregnancy, good body mechanics and exercises for labor and birth, as well as complications common to multiple pregnancy and signs & symptoms to be aware of. You will receive the link for the on-line class with your registration confirmation. The in-person classes cover pre-term labor and birth, a tour of our NICU, and a parent panel of couples who have recently given birth to multiples. If this is your first pregnancy/baby, we also recommend that you sign up for a prepared childbirth class to learn more about labor and delivery, a Babycare PLUS class to teach you how to take care of your new infants, and a Breastfeeding class to round out your prenatal education. Please register early in your pregnancy so that you can do the on-line class in early pregnancy and plan to attend the in-person classes early in your 2nd trimester. For more specific information about our Multiples Class series, call (630) 527-7685. To register, call Class Registration at (630) 527-6363.
