Please join Edward-Elmhurst physicians and staff for our Healthy Driven Walk and Talk series. These free programs will start with a 20 minute talk on the health topic for the month followed by a 30-40 minute walk. A light snack and beverage will be provided.

Everyone has experienced the occasional crick in the neck or pain in the back that lingers for a day or two then goes away.  Unfortunately, many others have had the experience of chronic “pins and needles”, burning and stabbing sensations that accompany neuropathic neck and back pain.  It can last for months, if not years.  Neuropathic pain is a complex, chronic pain state resulting from injury, illness or disorder which has caused tissue damage to nerves.  For those experiencing such pain, quality of life can be severely impacted.  Please join Yonghua Zhang, M.D., neurologist with Edward Neurosciences Institute, and on staff at Edward Hospital for a discussion on neck and back pain, its sources, symptoms and current treatment and pain management strategies.

A wellness screening that includes a total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose measurement. The screening is a Cholestech finger-stick.  Results are available within 10 minutes and will be discussed with each participant following the screening.  A light breakfast will be provided.  Fasting 12 hours is required. Note:  Do not apply lotion to hands prior to the screening.

Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare offer program kits for your children’s group (classroom, girl scout or cub scout troop, church class, etc). You teach the class, we provide the syllabus and materials. Program kits can be checked out for three days. The following topics are available:

  • First Aid and Safety (Preschool, grade school)
  • Germs Make Me Sick (Preschool, grade school)
  • Taking Care When Home Alone (Ages 9-12)

Edward Medical Weight Loss Clinic

This clinic is a weight loss program tailored to each individual and supervised by Dr. Zaid Jabbar, medical director of the Edward Medical Weight Loss Clinic and internal medicine physician with Edward Medical Group. The clinic combines medically-supervised use of FDA approved weight loss medications with additional program options for each patient to achieve maximum results. Each patient will receive a thorough initial consultation and evaluation, which may include a baseline EKG and lab work.
