Find a Specialist
When you've been diagnosed with cancer, your world may be turned upside down. Take your first steps here by making decisions, finding an oncologist, and preparing for your initial visit at the Edward Cancer Center.
There are so many decisions to make during a particularly stressful time for you and your family.
To help you, we've designed the largest support program of any cancer program in the area. Our cancer team includes three full-time licensed social workers who are available to focus on your needs as a cancer patient from counseling to scheduling appointments. Our breast care navigator is a full-time nurse practitioner who supports breast cancer patients from diagnosis through recovery.
For more information about one-on-one support or financial assistance, please call Linda Conlin, LCSW, Sharon Kelleher, LCSW at (630) 527-3788, or Deborah Hartman at (630) 527-3434.
Find an oncologist
Our oncologists have trained at some of the nation's most prestigious medical centers. And, they work together with other physician specialists to look comprehensively at your needs to determine the most effective treatment plan. Our team of oncology nurses has committed their careers to working with only cancer patients, making them even more qualified to offer you the best possible care.

Preparing for your first visit
To help you get the most out of your appointment, please be sure to call our office first to schedule a time. You will need to bring all of your information with you to the appointment, including a patient history form, physician orders and referrals. You may print a patient history form and complete it before you arrive.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to register and complete additional paperwork that we may need.
We offer free valet parking in the front entrance circle drive of the Cancer Center, or you may park in the North parking deck, which is right across from the Cancer Center.
If you're coming for an infusion or chemotherapy treatment, you may bring someone with you. Feel free to bring a book, movie, or cell phones may be used. We have pillows, blankets, recliners, private, semi-private rooms, or an open area for you and your visitor/s to sit. Vistors may also visit the Cancer Center Healing Garden.
We provide coffee, tea, hot cocoa, juice and crackers. You may bring food and drinks for your visit. We do not have lunch items, but we do have a microwave to use. We suggest bringing something if you are going to be here for a long infusion.
If you need lab work prior to your treatment, we recommend coming the day before to avoid waiting time on the day of your treatment. We often cannot treat until we see lab results.
