Family Time: A Support Group for New Moms and Dads
Perinatal Mood Disorder can occur anytime during and after pregnancy, leaving new moms feeling alone, angry, confused and stressed about their ability to care for their new family addition. Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) are very common and affect the entire family unit. This condition cannot be taken lightly and is best treated by a combination of counseling support. It is helpful for the entire family to be involved in the education and recovery process. Many family members experience confusion, doubt, anger and frustration when someone they love is diagnosed with this disorder. Our goal is to support and educate you, your partner and/or loved ones. Topics of discussion will include signs and symptoms of PMADs, practical education on how to support a woman with PMAD and how PMADs affect the entire family unit.  We will also be viewing a video and answering questions.  Regina Chow Trammel, LCSW, leads this group. Regina is a licensed psychotherapist in private-practice and is certified by Postpartum Support International as a postpartum mood disorders specialist. We will be meeting every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 12:00pm at the Edward Medical office building on 27555 Diehl Rd., Entrance G. Moms, Dads and babies are all welcome!

Note: Due to the holidays, we will not be having the Family Time Support Group for new Moms and Dads on Saturday, Dec. 24thFor more information or to call with any questions, please contact Regina at (630) 999-1531. Click here for a flyer on the Family Time Support Group.
